FRUS.TRA.TION // a feeling of dissatisfaction, often accompanied by anxiety or depression, resulting from unfulfilled needs or unresolved problems.
Frustration is something every human being will encounter. Why do we get so frustrated at situations, family, friends and other loved ones?
The common denominator is preference.
PREF.ER.ENCE// a practical advantage given to one over others.
If we get rid of our preferences we will be happier. We have this phantom expectation of people and situations that are fairy tale. Everything will not go your way. The decisions a person make, may not be what you may have in mind, but, that’s their right.
I found myself getting really upset/mad/angry/stressed/frustrated today. I questioned myself. Why am I putting myself through this? Because I want this situation go another way, otherwise I wouldn’t be upset…duh. Well, I had to change my thinking. Saying Why Not? instead of Why?
It may as well happen, so I can laugh at it later. It’s not as bad as it my seem right now. It was a character defying moment. I realize you determine your mood, your attitude and your future. Don’t let your expectations of people, especially, take a toll on you, your health (mentally & physically), and your relationships.
I hope this blesses someone.
What do you do to calm yourself down after a moment of frustration?
A six year old girl from the southern Delta searches for her long lost mother after her father falls ill and the world spins out of balance in the film that took home the Grand Jury Prize and Best Cinematography award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. A harsh but loving father, Wink swore that his beloved daughter Hushpuppy would be prepared for the day he was no longer able to look after her. Little did Wink realize that day would come sooner than anyone suspected, and when illness strikes him down nature runs amuck. As the soaring temperatures melt ice caps and the sea levels swell, a race of prehistoric beasts named the aurochs emerge to reclaim the planet. Meanwhile, as the apocalypse unfolds, determined Hushpuppy bravely sets out on a mission to reunite with the mother she’s never known. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
The more that robots ingrain themselves into our everyday lives, the more we’re forced to examine ourselves as people. At TEDxBerkeley, Ken Goldberg shares four very human lessons that he’s learned from working with robots.
