God bless America.
It's my day to blog today and with all that has been happening lately. I sadly felt the need to use my blog to take the president to task on this.
I'm really impressed with this this president.
The equal treatment of all members of our society is the most obvious pressing civil rights issue of our time.
I'm quite disappointed in My home state NC for their disappointing vote on the measure yesterday. But this is a bold step in the right direction.
Treating people equally is an issue of moral character.
As a fellow North Carolinian I was really sad when I heard the news of Amendment 1.
I hope President Obama’s influence on this matter can help overturn this decision. Something must be done.

Welcome to the 21st century, Mr. President! You did the right thing.
I am SO proud that he finally took this position. The first black president is the first acting president to take this stance. I couldn’t be happier.
As far as NC goes, they can’t be hated on more harshly than the other 35 or so other states that have done the same thing. Yes, it is disappointing. But the hatred being spewed from the nation to them is not only misdirected, but pointless. It just spreads more anger and hate which is the last thing that we need in this world.
I would LOVE for one day to be able to be married in any state I choose to live. I would love to not have to think twice about what kinds of hoops I’ll have to jump through just to marry the person I love. I know one day that will come. Just like the black civil rights movement, just like the woman’s right’s movement, the change finally came. It took time, but it came. Gays are the next in the human rights movement. We just need to keep fighting for our rights and our time will come.
